Vaporwave Mountain / Lootbox Simulator
Table of Contents
This is a vector landscape artwork I created in Adobe Photoshop which began my vector mountains series.

The background was created for Lootbox Simulator, a school assignment where we had to create a fake video game cover.
Inspiration #
My image took heavyyyyy inspiration from this image, I was obsessed with this style at the time and essentially just wanted to make my own version.
Early version #
I found this backup Photoshop project from 2019 that shows an incomplete version of Lootbox Simulator. Looking back at this many years later, I think that this more stripped down version with less effects actually looks significantly better than the final version. I feel it captures the style even better than the final version does and now I prefer how this looks.
New Version #
I animated this image in Wallpaper Engine and then took a screenshot of it to create the updated version with more effects and crap. The animated version can be accessed here on the Steam Workshop.
Alternate Versions #

I made a green and light mode versions because idk why not lol.
Reflection #
I was very proud of this image at the time. The video game cover looks very legit, however as time goes on I feel it’s a little bit crude in some regards. It’s definitely a style I have grown out of.
