This is AI Slop, an album I completely AI Generated using Udio. The input I have had into this album is prompting the AI for every 30 second chunk of music and then naming the songs afterwards with minor edits to them for a better album flow.

Of course, AI art is still mindless slop compared to the hardwork and talent of genuine creatives making their own work (hence the name). I am mostly interested in the results it can produce and the potential to aid real people in creating things and not replacing them. (Also it helps get across my goals of what kind of music I want to produce one day). Here are the tracks generated by Udio:

  • I tried SOOOO HARD to get bongos added to this track with several promps in a row such as “BONGOS BONGOS BONGOS” but Udio simply refused.
  • Udio ended this song fantastically, something it is not good at

  • Original prompt was “electronic ambient 140bpm groovy chill experimental simple present drums”
  • The glitched out solo thing in the middle of this song is awesome, this was fairly easy to prompt

  • Original prompt was “90s grunge rock melodic hard fast raw low quality production”
  • Udio randomly decided to end the track, this is strange because Udio is horrible at ending tracks. I wanted to make the song longer but just went with it

  • Original prompt was “a chill cool jazz instrumental song with electronic influence and a simple memorable melody and interesting chord progression”
  • One of the first tracks I generated and I had no idea how to use Udio, it simply refused to listen to me and anything I suggested
  • Udio straight up did not know how to finish the song, it is 1.5 minutes longer than I wanted it to be, I just fade out the audio in editing

  • Originally titled “Ethereal Echoes” by Udio
  • Original prompt was “chill triphop song with memorable lead”
  • This song flows very strangely and goes almost too quiet near the middle
  • Udio had a hard time ending this song but then decided to end this song in a way I really liked

  • Last song generated for the album, filler track

  • Original prompt was “rap reggae jazz song chill”
  • This song is absolutely stuck in my head please help
  • If I were to make this track myself I would have a little less of piano solo and resolve the song back to the main section and make it more pronounced, it does do that in the track but it is buried under the piano

  • Original prompt was “Help help help help help help help”
  • For such a strange prompt Udio fucking DELIVERED on this track

  • Originally titled “Sythwave Serenity” by Udio
  • Original prompt was “upbeat electronic fun chill”
  • All other generations for the start of the track were weak as shit except for the one that I actually used which goes HARD
  • Every time I asked Udio to bring the song to a climax it would add in a quiet part, I wanted this song to hit an even higher peak
  • This took an absolutely stupid amount of attempts to end the song, so much so that I had to edit in the ending myself

Results #

I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the results, this stuff does not sound like AI music and it has genuinely been stuck in my head. Music like this album is the type of music I want to produce once I gain the abilities to reach this level of production, I genuinely really like the songs. I may use AI to help me produce things in the future but I still want to create tracks using my own skills.

  • Album art produced by Skye (who also helped launch this website) ChatGPT/Bing/DuckDuckGO was down on this day so DiffusionBee was used to generate the artwork since I couldn’t find a site to do it with
  • Technically this is my first album since 2018?? Does this and YouTuber Mix even count? I really wanna make a PROPER album one day
